The Sound of North American Music plays at the Audio Olympics

On May 23-24, 2023, North American young musician Minghao Liu, pianist Melody Sham, and cellist Yiyang Xue from Canada's Nuages Trio for chamber music flew from the United States and Chicago to Shenzhen, China. Together with the Music Olympiad Academy, they performed two wonderful shows at the Steinway Garden and the Music Olympiad Mozart Hall in Shenzhen Concert Hall. They also shared their music learning journey and suggestions for admission to prestigious universities in the United States and Canada with the Music Olympiad teachers and students.

The Nuages Trio, a Canadian chamber music ensemble, and representatives from the Music Department of Audio-Organic College of the Arts gave a musical performance on the theme of “Fusion of Classical and Contemporary”.

The South Metropolis Daily interviewed the North American trio, who first of all thanked Yin Ao Shuyuan for giving them such a special opportunity to bring their first performance in China to Shenzhen, and secondly, they also gave some advice to music students who want to study abroad: don't pay too much attention to the exams and the results, enjoy the moment and immerse yourself in the process of learning music.
YIAA Workshop
On the afternoon of February 24th, North American trio musicians shared their college life and the development of their ensembles in North America to students in YIAA Mozart Hall respectively; in terms of further education, Ming Hao and Melody talked about the top music schools in Chicago, USA and Vancouver, Canada; the application time and precautions for the top schools, as well as the judges' favorite musical interpretations during the interviews. They suggested that all students studying musical instruments could think, explore and incorporate their own ideas and creativity in the process of practicing tunes.

BENSON from the Department of Performing Arts, students and faculty from the Department of Music, and the North American Trio presented a salon on the theme of “Appreciation of Romantic and Neo-Classical Music”-Audio Night.
